BMW E70 X5 Interior Door Pull Replacement
One of the common problems of the E70 platform when it comes to the Interior is the degradation of the passenger door pulls. This typically silky feeling material over time starts to break down and eventually rub off as a thick sticky residue. The OEM part can be had for about $50-$55 online however I decided to try a $23 part from eBay. This is not only a review of the eBay part but also a simple diy on how to replace it.
Tools Required:
- Interior Plastic Pry

One thing I'd say to anyone replacing these or just removing the scuttle drains - ensure that you replace the scuttle drains properly into the drain aperture in the inner wing. Many get twisted and not only restrict the water etc flowing out, they tip the water into the bulkhead / firewall cavity. If these rubber parts are twisted , just apply a little heat from a heat gun to gently return them to their original shape. Then ensure they're seated properly.

Very helpful video. Are you supposed to use some sealant / rubber paste where the Partition, Top Center connects with Bulkhead, Right and Left? Mine has that connecting the two now. Not sure if was originally that way or repair shop did it when I had them swap the engine. I also read about the rubber paste stuff in a couple other posts.

Saw your post on the forums selling your kit. You still have the E70? Mines gonna turn 10yrs soon and want to try out BC. Never towing (no hitch) just occasional 5 person packed with suitcases airport drop. Curious about rear squatting with Swift spring rate at 12kg.

Replying from my other account here….I would recommend going with springs instead of coilovers. The rears just had too much bounce with the coilovers. You may be able to adjust the dampening to be better but IMO lowering springs are better.
